Dr. Kaiser is a board-certified neurosurgeon and faculty member of the Neurosurgical Department at Columbia University with advanced subspecialty training in complex spine surgery. Dr. Kaiser's clinical interests include artificial cervical disc replacement, minimally invasive spine surgery, dynamic spinal fusion, spine and spinal cord tumors, and degenerative spine disease. His research interests include the development of motion preservation technology, evidence based treatment algorithms, and clinical outcome analysis.

Dr. Kaiser received his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut where he was designated as a Farr Scholar and served as the Class President. He completed his surgical internship, neurosurgical residency training, and post-doctoral research fellowship in New York at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons, Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. He then completed a neurosurgical spine fellowship in Atlanta at the Emory Clinic, Emory University.

Dr. Kaiser is an active member of numerous professional organizations including the American Association of Neurological Surgery, the Congress of Neurological Surgery, and the AANS Joint Section on Spine & Peripheral Nerve. He is presently serving on the executive committee of the AANS Joint Section of Spine & Peripheral Nerve as the chairman of the outcomes committee. Dr. Kaiser also serves as an ad hoc reviewer of two nationally recognized peer-reviewed spine journals and is on the consulting board of one of the top ten spinal instrumentation companies.  Dr. Kaiser has had over 35 publications accepted as peer reviewed clinical articles, book chapters, and meeting abstracts. He has routinely served as both a presenter and instructor at several annual neurosurgical meetings since 1998.

Dr. Kaiser has received various prestigious awards including The Elsberg Award from New York Society of Neurosurgery, The Peter F. Curran Thesis Award and The American Heart Association Research Fellowship from Yale University School of Medicine. Despite his surgical accomplishments, Dr. Kaiser considers surgical intervention as the last resort to alleviate a patient's symptoms. He is a strong believer in developing an individualized treatment plan to address each patient's unique clinical affliction and incorporates the most recent innovations to formulate an evidence-based treatment strategy.
