Non-Surgical Procedures

The majority of patients with an acute onset of back or neck pain will not require surgical treatment. In fact, as part of our philosophy, the healthcare team at the Columbia Presbyterian Spine Center makes every effort to help patients avoid unnecessary surgery by offering safe and effective alternatives whenever possible. Among the non-surgical treatment options offered at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center are:

Epidural Steroid Injection
Facet Joint Block
IDET (Intradiscal Electrothermal Therapy)
Medications
Radio Frequency Nerve Ablation
Selective Nerve Root Block
