Dr. Donald O. Quest was honored by the Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons and its Alumni Association during the recent Alumni Reunion Weekend. He also got a chance to share his artistic side.
Dr. Quest received the 2015 Gold Medal for Meritorious Service during the Association’s annual black tie gala on May 9, 2015.
The Reunion Weekend also included a student, faculty and alumni concert. Dr. Quest performed on the trombone during the concert, proving that he is a man of many talents.
A former President of the Alumni Association, Dr. Quest has been an active member of all the major committees and chaired or co-chaired many as well. His leadership experience doesn’t stop there; he has also served as president of several national neurosurgery organizations, such as the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the American Academy of Neurological Surgeons, and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons.
Dr. Quest has published papers in several areas of neurosurgery, including carotid endarterectomy, and the surgical response to stroke. He is passionate about medical education and is an Assistant Dean of Students at Columbia University.
And he plays a mean trombone.
